Long history of supporting the aviation industry
Tokyo Aircraft Instrument, a.k.a. Tokyo Koku Keiki (TKK), was established in 1937 with the spin-off of the aircraft instrument division of its predecessor Tokyo Keiki Seisakusho at the request of the Japan Navy amid calls for increased national power of the time. Being an ambitious and gifted engineer, our founder Yoshihira Wada started domestic production of instruments which had previously been imported.
Inheriting his aspirations, we have played an important role in aviation for more than 80 years. During the WWII, TKK delivered instruments and autopilots to the Army and Navy as Japan's top manufacturer. The company weathered the post war years, during which the Japanese aviation industry was banned, by manufacturing completely different civilian products such as cinema projectors. When the ban was lifted in 1952, TKK immediately resumed the manufacture and repair of aircraft instruments. Today, our products are installed on most of the Ministry of Defense's aircraft, and we continue to support air safety.
Our activities are not confined either within the borders or to the defense market. In the 60's we established United Instruments, a subsidiary in the United States, as a base for entering the global market. In the 80's, we became a direct supplier to the Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Our products have earned the trust of users internationally for their high quality and can be found flying around the world.

As you can see from the "Aerospace Products" section of "Products and Services" on our website, we manufacture not only instruments, but also a variety of other aircraft equipment from displays, sensors, processors to oxygen masks.
Our technologies developed in the field of aviation have been applied to different fields. TKK's measuring instruments are used in a wide range of areas including automobiles, infrastructure, railroads, ships, semiconductors, medicine, and research institutions. In particular, our industrial measuring instruments for pressure, flow, motion, etc., are highly regarded for their reliability and accuracy. We are meeting the needs of increasingly sophisticated markets with the latest solutions.
Another feature of our company is our ability to provide durable and long-lasting products. Many of our analog measuring instruments have few failures or deviations even after 10 years of use, and are highly valued by our customers for their low running costs.

Product development in partnership with customers
One of our merits is the ability to develop products that meet the needs of each customer without being constrained by existing products. Many of the products we provide to the semiconductor industry, such as overlay measurement equipment, wafer transfer equipment and reticle transfer equipment, were developed in response to unique requests from the users. Our mechanical precision technology cultivated in our aeronautic and measuring equipment enables us to provide solutions to customers' problems and develop products that best meet their requirements.
Many semiconductor factories use costly high-end overlay measuring equipment with more functions than actually needed. We can offer affordable products by implementing only those functions necessary for each customer's production line, thus helping to keep the initial costs low. The MAC series has a proven track record, with over 200 units delivered in Japan, and can be designed and customized to fit your factory line.
We respond quickly in cases of emergencies and minimize the impacts of problems. It is yet another reason why we are selected.

Calibration and maintenance services based on extensive knowledge and experience
Any equipment is subject to breakdowns and problems due to aging. In addition to daily inspections, measuring instruments and equipment require periodic maintenance, inspection, and calibration.
We are a JCSS (Japan Calibration Service System) accredited calibration organization in compliance with the international Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and provide pressure calibration services that meet the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC17025. Of course, we can calibrate not only our products, but also pressure gauges manufactured by other companies.
In addition to providing high-precision products and calibration services, we also believe that we have a role to play in disseminating information that customers want to know, based on the wealth of knowledge and experience we have accumulated. We will continue to respond to a wide range of customer needs, from conveying the meaning of the numerical values indicated by pressure gauges and flowmeters to providing proposals and consulting for efficient use of the obtained pressure.
